You’re here because your gut is running the show. It's time to take charge and get your life back.

Does it feel like every meal is a gamble? Whether you’ve just received a diagnosis or you’ve been struggling for years, SIBO is an exhausting journey to navigate alone. Most of my clients find their way to me in one of three places:

😭 The “Newly Diagnosed & Overwhelmed”: You just left your doctor’s office with a SIBO diagnosis and a prescription for antibiotics. But you weren’t given a nutrition plan, a way to manage the die-off, or any idea of what to do once the pills run out. You’re staring at a bottle of Rifaximin wondering, “Is this really all it takes?”

😭 The “Frustrated Relapser”: You’ve already done the treatments. You’ve taken the rounds of antibiotics or herbs and felt better for a few weeks—only for the “SIBO belly” and the brain fog to come roaring back. You’re tired of the cycle and realize that just “killing the bugs” isn’t enough to keep them away.

😭 The “Searching for Answers”: You haven’t been officially diagnosed yet, but you’ve spent hours on Google looking for why you look six months pregnant by 4:00 PM. You have chronic bloating, unpredictable bathroom trips, and a growing list of “fear foods.” You suspect SIBO is the culprit, but you don’t know the first step to take to get real testing and real answers.

If any of these sound like you, you’re in the right place. SIBO isn’t just a “gut bug”—it’s a sign that your digestive system’s internal rhythm is out of sync. As a SIBO dietitian, I specialize in helping you bridge the gap between a diagnosis and long-term, bloat-free living.

What is SIBO?

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when an excessive amount of bacteria—which ideally belong in your large intestine—take up residence in your small bowel.

When these bacteria ferment the foods you eat, they produce excess gas (hydrogen, methane, or hydrogen sulfide). This process is what leads to the classic SIBO symptoms:

  • Chronic Bloating & Distention
  • Diarrhea, Constipation (or both)
  • Abdominal Pain & Cramping
  • Food Intolerances
  • Acid Reflux or Heartburn

Why Work With a SIBO Dietitian?

Standard protocols often focus solely on “killing” the bacteria. But the bacterial overgrowth is rarely the primary problem; it is usually a symptom of a deeper issue — such as sluggish motility, low stomach acid, nutrient depletions, or nervous system dysregulation.

By working with a SIBO dietitian, you get a partner who understands the nuances of hydrogen-dominant SIBO, Methane-dominant (IMO), and Hydrogen Sulfide SIBO, ensuring your protocol is tailored to your specific condition and health history. Your plan will include nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement strategies for a holistic approach to restore optimal gut health.

My Approach: A Root-Cause Solution for SIBO

Many people come to a SIBO dietitian after rounds of antibiotics have failed, or they’ve become stuck on a restrictive diet. To find lasting relief, we must move beyond just “killing” bacteria and focus on why the overgrowth happened in the first place.

My SIBO protocol is a comprehensive, four-phase natural healing strategy designed to restore your gut’s natural harmony.

Phase 1: Assess & Optimize

We begin by identifying your specific SIBO type and the underlying factors that are contributing to your digestive symptoms, such as bloating, abdominal pain, or unpredictable bowel movements.

  • Digestive Support: We address digestive dysfunction before we start with eradication. By optimizing stomach acid, digestive enzymes, and bile flow, we ensure food is properly digested so it doesn’t ferment and feed the bacteria.
  • Symptom Relief: To get your symptoms under control, may utilize a short-term nutrition protocol, like the Low FODMAP diet, or Bi-phasic diet. While a restricted diet does not cure SIBO, it is a powerful tool to reduce the fermentation of carbohydrates that feed the overgrowth, giving you immediate digestive comfort.

Phase 2: Clear & Correct

Instead of relying solely on conventional antibiotics, which can be harsh on your microbiome, we utilize antimicrobial herbs to eradicate bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine.

  • Nature’s Allies: Research shows that botanicals can be just as effective as the antibiotic Rifaximin in resolving bacterial overgrowth, often with fewer side effects.
  • Targeted Protocols: We will tailor your eradication protocol to your type of SIBO- different type (methane, hydrogen, or hydrogen sulfide) respond to different herbs and antimicrobials. A protocol that is not designed to address your type of SIBO will be less effective.

Phase 3: Repair & Restore

Research shows that up to 60% of SIBO cases recur within 9 months of antibiotic treatment. These are dismal results, but this doesn’t have to be the case for you.

Your risk of SIBO recurrence will be MUCH higher, if you don’t address the underlying factors that allowed SIBO to occur in the first place- sluggish motility, digestive dysfunction, low thyroid function, and microbiome imbalances.

The purpose of the Repair & Restore phase is to repair the gut and restore digestive function to prevent SIBO from coming back.

  • The Housekeeping Wave: We focus on restoring your Migrating Motor Complex (MMC), the nervous system’s way of “sweeping” the small intestine clean.
  • Heal & Repair: We will repair and rebuild the gut lining that was eroded by inflammation in the gut.

Phase 4: Diversify & Sustain

The final step is to move away from restriction and toward a diverse microbiome.

  • Microbiome Diversity: We thoughtfully reintroduce fiber-rich foods and high-quality probiotics to replenish beneficial strains that may have been lost during treatment.
  • Nutrient Replenishment: We replace key nutrients depleted by malabsorption or elimination diets, ensuring your gut stays resilient for the long term.
